Menu design

Feria. Andalusian polka dots.

Polka-dot ruffles at the top and bottom, a cut-out fan above the name and red poster headings with a trio of dots. Feria is cheerful, but it has the poise of a fair poster.

Ruffles, fan and polka dots

Feria dresses your menu like a flamenco dancer. Scalloped polka-dot ruffles hang at the top and bottom of the page, in the red accent. A cut-out fan opens above the name, which is set in Abril Fatface, a very high-contrast poster face. Underneath come the subtitle in spaced capitals and a scalloped garland.

Section titles are in red, centred in their column, with a trio of dots underneath. Dishes are set in Josefin Sans, in spaced capitals, and prices in the poster typeface. A featured dish is framed with a dotted border.

The menu it suits

Andalusian bars, flamenco venues, fried fish bars, tapas bars and Spanish restaurants. Fried fish, cured meats, stews, small sandwiches and fino sherry. Use the dishes’ Spanish names and explain only what’s needed in the description. For tapa, half and full portions, use price columns with headings.

It is cheerful, but orderly: the ornaments stay on the edges and in the headers, and the dishes area is white and clean. Fried food piles up gluten, fish and egg: mark them dish by dish with the icons or numbers for the 14 allergens.

Formats where it shines

  • Two-column A4: the full menu.
  • A3 poster: at the entrance to the bar or the fair stand.
  • A5: the daily menu, with the price inside a polka-dot oval.
  • 4:5 post: to announce the menu or a fiesta on social media.

If you want the same Mediterranean feel with less of a party, compare it with Azulejo. For a traditional tapas bar, try Vermouth.

Tips to get the most out of it

  • For fried fish and other fried plates, use price columns for half and full portions, with headings.
  • Use the dishes’ Spanish names (salmorejo, adobo, croquetas) and explain only what’s needed in the description.
  • The dots follow the accent: in green or blue it changes outfit without losing its charm.
  • If you upload your logo, it replaces the fan above the name.

Colours, fonts, columns and format can all be changed in the editor without losing the design. It works on A4, US Letter, slim A4, A5, booklet, tri-fold, A3 and images for social media.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the red?

Yes. The accent changes the dots, the fan, the headings and the prices. In green or blue it still feels like a Spanish fair.

Does it work for a tapas menu with tapa and full portion prices?

Yes. Each section can have its own price columns with the heading on top, aligned in the red accent.

Does it work for a daily set menu?

Yes. The menu price sits inside a polka-dot oval and each heading has its trio of dots underneath.
